About us

Welcome to the Child and Parent Centre – Kununurra.

Our centre provides support and guidance to families through a young mums group, cook ups, art classes and a close relationship with Ord Valley Aboriginal Health Service nurses, mental health professionals and speech therapists.

Our main focus is on children who are three years old; however we also cater for 0 to 8 year olds.

We run playgroups from Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 9.00am to 11.30am.

We welcome parents and caregivers to drop in for a chat and a cup of tea as well as attend the playgroups.

The playgroups we having running are, Small Branches which is run by Allied Health and focuses on language and motor or social development.

We also provide KindiLink – a play-and-learn initiative for Aboriginal three year old children who attend with a parent/carer. Parents are supported to be actively involved in the play-and-learn activities with their children.

Aboriginal Families as First Teachers is a program run at our centre by St Joseph’s Catholic School and Catholic Education.

There are no fees attached to attending the centre and we encourage families as well as other agencies to feel free to use our facilities.

The Child and Parent Centre – Kununurra is managed by Wunan Foundation in partnership with Kununurra District High School.
