Weekly Programs – Term 2, 2025

Child and Parent Centre Carey Park Term 2 weekly programs run from Monday 5 May to Friday 4 July. We’re very excited to announce that Bubbles Biyabeda’s book theme for all playgroups this term is The Truck Cat, written by Deborah Frenkel and illustrated by Danny Snell. The Truck Cat is also the 2025 National Simultaneous Storytime book for Australia and New Zealand, which is celebrated on May 21.

Musical Mondays (followed by morning tea)

Mondays 9:30am to 11:15am

Our music sessions are busy, noisy and fun! We sing the same songs each week for a term to help the children become familiar with the words and movements, plus they make a musical instrument craft every session. Our music program is designed to focus on language and physical development skills. Every music session is followed by a morning tea, providing an opportunity for the adults to chat while the children play. For children aged birth to 4 years.


Radiance Support Group

Tuesdays 10:30am to 12:00pm

Radiance is a support group helping mums build resilience and improve their emotional well-being, supports mums in building a relationship with their baby during the first months of parenthood. Referrals are required, see your Child Health Nurse, GP or Child and Parent Centre Carey Park staff for more information.


Creative Kids – 4 week program starting 6 May for 4 to 8 year-olds (bookings required)

Tuesdays 3:15pm to 4:30pm

Join our free 4-week program and let your child’s creative spirit free with our exciting craft project (we’re still deciding on this term’s project – watch this space! Limited to 8 children to ensure personalised attention and ample materials. Parent/caregivers stay with their child(ren) – younger siblings are welcome to play. Afternoon tea provided for all attendees.


Playgroup

Wednesdays 9:00am to 11:00am

Our playgroup sessions are a relaxed format group with lots of opportunities for your child to choose what they would like to play. Each week your child can choose from a variety of craft activities, sandpit games, imaginary and social play. Activities are designed to promote opportunities for social, emotional, and physical development. A healthy snack for the children is provided, plus a cuppa for the adults. For children aged birth to 4 years.


MyTime Support Group

Thursdays 9:00am to 11:00am

MyTime is a support group for parent/carers of children with a disability, developmental delay or chronic medical condition. Adults have the opportunity to unwind, share ideas and connect with others that understand the extra demands that come with being a carer as well as a parent. There are plenty of activities for the children designed to promote social connection, language, and emotional development, and our fabulous Play Leaders will supervise the children at play. Parents welcome to attend with or without children. For parents/carers of children aged up to 18 years.


Playgroup – Maidens Park Primary School Kindy Area

Fridays 8:30am to 10:30am

This playgroup is open to all families in the Bunbury area, and you can arrive any time during the session. This group has a relaxed format group with lots of opportunities for your child to choose what they would like to play. Each week your child can choose from a variety of craft activities, sandpit games, imaginary and social play. Activities are designed to promote opportunities for social, emotional, and physical development. A healthy snack for the children is provided, plus a cuppa for the adults. For children aged birth to 4 years.
